Before REWW, Clothier was part of Memphis Invest, a family-run real estate company based in Memphis, Tennessee.  Today, Memphis Invest is one of the largest real estate investment companies in the country, having bought and sold more than 5,000 residential investment properties, with another 1,000 planned for 2019.

Early Success

Clothier achieved early success rising up the corporate ladder at one of the nation's largest grocery distribution companies. By age 23, Clothier had taken over the organization's day-to-day sales and operations. He was instrumental in growing the company’s annual sales to more than $80 million, prior to its acquisition by a national competitor that retained Clothier and soon after promoted him to Executive Director of Sales and Marketing. When Clothier departed, the now-combined company had $1.8 billion in annual sales, making it the 7th largest privately held company in the state of Florida.

Seeking New Opportunity

After reaching the height of success in grocery distribution, Kent Clothier sought new challenges in real estate. Although he had very little real estate experience, he did own a few rental properties for several years. That limited experience led Kent Clothier to his thirst for more, but his search turned up much unintelligible, false and misleading information on the web. Feeling overwhelmed by the lack of quality information available to help a real estate professional grow their business, he decided that the only way to distinguish between fact and fiction was to get involved. This marked the birth of his investing career.

Alongside his two brothers and father, Kent Clothier launched his real estate career quite literally by learning on the job. What started as an initial intent to “buy and sell” a few houses every month to make a "nice living" quickly snowballed into a much larger real estate organization.
